Lazy camping day. Isobel woke up at dawn, in a happy mood. She was content to stay in the tent for a little while after I got her a juice box and some grapes.
She started getting cranky in the late morning, so we went for a drive to get her to nap. We drove along Highway 101N until we were almost at the Powell River ferries. I would have loved to stop somewhere along the drive and do some exploring and photo taking, but agreed with Jon that it was better to let Isobel sleep. She slept for just under two hours before we stopped in Sechelt to grab some food.
After lunch, we headed back to the beach. Isobel enjoyed playing in the sand. The Lehmann's showed up and spent some time visiting with us. We returned to the campsite to get the kids, and ourselves, cleaned up a little before heading to the Lehmann's for dinner.
We had goggled the instructions on how to get to the Lehmann's before heading to the coast and the road off the main highway that we were supposed to turn down was missing it's name sign. Jon had purchased a map earlier in the day to make sure we were turning on the correct street.
Had a lovely dinner and visit with the Lehmann's. Towards the end, Isobel was not so subtly telling us it was time to go. I really enjoyed our visit and hope to see them again soon. It was really nice to see how much Morgan had grown since the first time we saw her (last fall before Jon returned to work) and to talk to them in person instead of reading their blog to keep up to date on their lives.
When we returned to the campsite, after giving the Bird's a half an hour head start to get Cordy to bed, Isobel was so upset that she wasn't allowed to see Cordy. She kept saying "baby" and pointing to go out of the tent when we were trying to get her down for the night. Jon finally told her "no baby" as telling her Cordy was sleeping wasn't working which only made her start sobbing. Cordy was also not so keen on going to sleep that night either.
Eventually, all the kids went to sleep and the adults were able to play a couple rounds of Tiki Topple by lantern and flash light before heading to bed.
