Isobel had a busy month. She had sports day at preschool that was held inside due to the rain. Isobel still had fun participating in the races and getting ribbons.
She finished her swim class and passed into the next level.
She went on a date with daddy to Steveston while mommy was at an Indian cooking class.
Grandma and Grandpa Walker arrived for a long visit. They were able to make it in time for Isobel's last day of preschool and last ballet class of the session. Isobel had fun charging Grandma for kisses.
Grandma took Isobel to get her hair cut. Isobel picked the length. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I agree that it suits her.
Isobel said bon voyage to Great Aunt Joan as she boarded the plane for her fist trip to England.
We celebrated Father's Day. Isobel made a lovely pink picture frame for Jon in preschool.
We spent time at the garden, planting and weeding. Isobel ate some potatoes from our garden and one of the sunflowers she planted is now taller than she is. She even made friends with the little boys from the garden plot behind ours.
Our complex pool opened up. We avoided the first day this year, but it was still really cold when we went.
We had a games day at Uncle Matty's while he was home on holidays. Isobel helped him blow out his candles and cut his birthday cake.
We went to the bunny park a couple of times; once with Grandma and Grandpa and once in the rain with Mason and Cordy. Saw and fed lots of bunnies.
Isobel had an ingrown toenail so Jon took her to see the doctor. Our normal doctor was away, but Dr Kwong said that Isobel was very articulate.
We had a visit with Great Gran while she was down for an appointment from Bella Coola.
We went to Strawberry Tea at London Heritage Farm with Grandma and Grandpa.
It was rainy on Canada Day and we took Isobel to her first movie at a theatre "Brave". She enjoyed it although did find parts a bit scary.
In this month's photo, Isobel is wearing a dress made by Mommy and Grandma. My mom bought me a sewing machine and was showing me the basics, so had me to some of the sewing on the dress.
Grandma and Grandpa bought Isobel her early birthday and Christmas present - a new foam mattress for her bed and she had been using my old one which was getting terrible.

During the month, Isobel got an Ipad. She seems to have a lot of fun playing with it, but we only let her use it on special occasions and long car rides.
Isobel caught a cold and we missed a week of ballet and swim class as a result. She then passed the cold to mommy who had it for three weeks.
We went to EPIC with Cynthia, Nicholas and Karla. Isobel had a lot of fun playing in the Cinderella carriage there with Nicholas.
We celebrated Mother's Day by having tea at London Heritage Farm. Isobel made a card and tea-light candle holder for mommy at preschool.
Ryley spent a night with us. Him and daddy went to a late showing of Avengers, while Isobel and mommy went to bed.
Isobel had a rainy field trip with preschool to the beach. The kids took the school bus there.
Isobel had her first sleep over at Poppa and Nana Louise's. She had lots of fun and is looking forward to the next time she gets to spend the night with them.
We spent some time at our garden and planted a pea plant, zucchini, cucumbers, and beans.
Isobel saw her first play, Cinderella. My cousin's daughter works for CSOPA and her class put on the production in Chilliwack. My aunt and cousin made the costumes. It was a very well done production and Isobel really enjoyed herself.
Isobel had a growth spurt during the month as she can now turn on her bathroom lights without a stool. She also became obsessed with Bad Kitty stories and will make daddy tell her made up ones.

In Isobel's fortieth month, she continued with ice skating and ballet lessons.
We went to Mason's fifth birthday party and watched the Superbowl at Uncle Matty's.
Valentine's Day came. Isobel received lots of valentines from preschool.
There was a week of temper tantrums thrown for Mommy and Isobel was not allowed to watch any television for a week. Fortunately, this seems to have passed.
Mommy and Daddy had a date night while Karla babysat. Isobel was really good for her, but would not fall asleep until we got home.
This month Isobel started twirling her hair (a lovely Walker trait).
Isobel baked cookies for daddy one day.
In preschool, Poppa and Nana Louise came for a visit and Isobel went on a field trip to the grocery store.
The dressing up in princess clothes continued.
Isobel stopped the last of her afternoon naps, for Cally.
My Uncle Bill passed away.

This month Isobel returned to preschool after Winter Break. They learned about time, calendars, and clocks during the month. They also learned about Chinese New Year and had a dragon parade. They ended up the month with a winter picnic outside.
Isobel started ice skating lessons this month. She's in the boots to blades program and in the same class as Cordy.
A new set of ballet lessons also started. I was a little worried about the timing of the class as it's 45 minutes long right after preschool once a week and that could make for a long day for Isobel. But she seems to be really enjoying class. Plus the instructor is great with the kids.
We had a couple of snow days this month. Even though it was not a lot of snow, and it did not last long, Isobel was able to spend some time tobogganing with her classmates.
Isobel started successfully entirely dressing herself this month. She does occasionally still need help sometimes, especially with socks.
She can almost recite the alphabet song; and recognizes some of the letters in her name in written form. She can count to 10. She can spell daddy's name verbally.
This month Isobel has gotten into a princess phase; she wants to dress up in princess dresses and says pink is her favorite colour. I think Jon is a little happy that he no longer has to be the princess whenever they play princess and pirate but still hopes this really girly phase ends quickly. Isobel enjoys playing house and has role played herself as Mrs Tietzmann (one of her preschool teachers) and Miss Vanessa (her new ballet teacher).
Her favorite stuffed toy is still Kitty, who usually goes every where with us.
She watched Disney's Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid for the first time.
Isobel had another cold sore this month and visited the doctor as a result. She was really good at taking her medicine for the cold sore and would remind us that she needed some. Dr Hui confirmed that Isobel is still in the tenth percentile on the growth chart. She weighs 26 pounds and is 90 cm tall. In terms of height, she can now turn off the lights without a stool, reach the elevator button for our floor and turn on and off the tap while on a stool.
Isobel ended off the month with a haircut.
Also, happy 5th birthday to Mason today.
