59/365 - New Year's Eve

Jon and I both have the flu. Isobel seems to be feeling better.

We headed over to the new apartment to unpack a few boxes. Hopefully, we're feeling better tomorrow so that we can move some more boxes.

We all went to bed at 7:30 this evening - so much for New Year's Eve. Although, I had to get up before midnight and log into work to change the parking rates and taxes. Just now finished and going back to bed to hopefully sleep off this headache - assuming that I can get to the correct body temperature for sleeping.

58/365 - New Apartment

We got the keys to our new apartment yesterday. And I finally got to see it.

But I was so sick. I ended up throwing up a couple of times that morning, including just before leaving to go get the keys. So I was no help to Matty and Jon with the first load of boxes.

And then in the evening, Jon started showing symptoms. So we all went to bed at 7pm.

57/365 - Tea with Brian

Isobel didn't get a bottle last night and didn't complain about it. However, Jon had to sleep with her the entire night; she woke up a couple of times but went back to sleep with little fussing. I, on the other hand, kept waking up wondering how she was doing and not feeling well myself.

I went into work today, but left early feeling dizzy and nauseous. I think I may be getting what Belly has.

Brian came over this morning to entertain Isobel while Jon got some packing done. Isobel even managed to convince him to let her play with his engineering ring; I think she has a thing for jewelry.

Isobel didn't throw up so far today, but was really clingy and sleepy today. She would have been content to just breastfeed and doze all evening if I'd let her. She did manage to eat a bit of dinner as I made her current favorite of bunny mac and cheese.

56/365 - Cup of Tea

Alida and family gave Isobel this teapot toy for Christmas and Isobel loves it. She carries it around all over the apartment, pouring tea, and making us drink some. It was a great gift.

Last night, I woke up at 12:30 to Jon calling me. Isobel had puked all over her sheets and pillow. So we got her changed into a fresh pair of pajamas, put the puke infested items into the wash and remade the bed. Once again Isobel puked all over the sheets. And a second pajama and sheet change occurred. Since the wash was still going from the first bout, these items were set by the washer for the first load in the morning. But once again, Isobel puked. So another fresh set of pjs and sheets. (And Jon wonders why I'm loathe to part with all of my sets of sheets for Isobel's bed). This time we let her wander around our living room playing. And she puked two more times, before we put her back to bed two hours later. Made for an interesting night.

She seemed fine in the morning. So after a late morning nap, Jon and I packed her up and took her to Chris and Annie's for a few hours. We were able to return their glider and ottoman that we had borrowed (which was great when Isobel was a baby, but we're trying to move as little as possible). Isobel had lots of fun playing with Mira and Rowan, while Jon and I were able to go home and tackle packing the kitchen up. It's mostly complete, but we started to run out of boxes.

Isobel fell asleep on the way home, so we drove a bit longer and ran a couple of errands - purchasing more laundry soap to wash all the puked on sheets. Got home and Isobel was not quite herself; didn't want to eat and wanted to be cuddled. After her bath, she crawled onto my lap on the couch and breastfeed for a little while. Then played a little bit, and then wanted back onto my lap again. This time however, she puked all over me and herself. So while Jon cleaned her up, I took a quick shower. Afterward she seemed energetic and wanted to play, but I'm afraid we'll have another pukey night.

55/365 - Walking Outside By Herself

We went out to the crepes place by our apartment for brunch today. I really wish we had started going there sooner, although it's probably good we didn't. It's one of the things about where we live right now that I'll miss.

On the way home, Isobel wanted to walk by herself. I wanted her to take my hand, but she refused. So instead I fretted most of the walk home about her falling and hurting herself, her running out into traffic, etc. Except for having to pick her up and carry her a way from all outside stairs, after letting her explore some, it was a great experience. She really enjoyed herself. I carried her across the street, but figured it's time to start teaching her to stop and look both ways before crossing already.

Today was supposed to be about packing and cleaning; however Isobel was really cranky and made it hard to get a lot done. We did manage to get our bathroom emptied and cleaned; as well as most of the pantry. And a few boxes got packed. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive.

Isobel took a late afternoon nap on me as she fell asleep breastfeeding. Her and I took a bath this evening, where she started copying me and sticking her tongue out at me and then giggling. And now Jon's trying to get her to sleep.

54/365 - Boxing Day

Okay, not too much of a write up. We went to Jon's mom's for an early lunch and then met up with his dad at Spaghetti Factory for a late lunch. Allison and Jordan are on the other side of the table.

Jon, Isobel and I then went to the twoonie swim. Where Isobel proceeded to have lots of fun going down the slide. Stopped and picked up a few groceries and then got home. Threw the baby in a bath to wash her hair and then got ready for bed.

Hopefully the next two days are more productive in terms of packing.

53/365 - Christmas Day

We had a very nice Christmas this year. We watched Isobel open presents in the morning and Jon put her new shopping cart together; which she seems to like. And, in true Christmas style, Isobel has cranky for a while.

We then packed upa nd headed out to Chilliwack for dinner at Nana and Poppa Clouatre's. Isobel was spoiled there and we ate lots of very yummy food. On the way home, Jon and I agreed that we need to ask Althea for her sweet potato recipe. And I even ate some turkey as Althea always makes a great turkey and I'm not a big turkey fan.

Isobel had lots of fun playing with the girls. And trying to avoid the puppy as she's still not fond of small dogs.

I could write so much more, but I have to go get ready for all of the Boxing Day events.

52/365 - Christmas Eve

I love her expression in this picture.

I still don't feel Christmasy this year. Oh well.....

It was a nice short day of work for both Jon and I. It's so nice to have him home in the evenings.

Jon thinks that we wait until Isobel is better at understanding what we say before having her learn to fall asleep on her own - which means that he's putting her to bed for the next year at least since she doesn't like falling asleep for me most nights - or that on the occasions I put her to bed, I'm sleeping with her until she wakes up in the middle of the night and Jon takes over.

51/365 - Toes

Isobel will crawl onto my lap whenever I'm sitting on the floor.

One of the first things she does when we get home is want to breastfeed and then pull her socks off while breastfeeding.

I've realized that Isobel thinks she needs Jon to go to sleep. And that's why she doesn't sleep well for me. There was a little while when she'd go to sleep easily for me and then stay asleep for a while, but not any more. So my new goal is to try to get her to be able to fall asleep without Jon laying down with her. I don't think I'll be getting a lot of sleep for the next little while, but in the long run I'm hoping her sleep habits improve.

50/365 - 3 More Sleeps Til Christmas

For some reason this year I'm not in a Christmas mood. Probably the fact that I didn't do any decorating since we're packing. Or baking. Oh well, I don't think Isobel will notice this year, but I'll have to make the effort next year.

49/365 - Work Stairs

I stayed up way too late last night and am really tired today. Jon dressed Isobel in a pajama top today. They arrived at my work really early and Isobel had lots of fun climbing up and down the stairs. We went for lunch at Milestones, and once again, Isobel stole the lime. After driving Jon to work, Isobel and I picked up some groceries and headed home. She was super crabby when we got home.

Am now trying to get her to bed and it's not going very well. I've been spoiled lately and Jon's been putting her to bed. She doesn't like to go to sleep for me and is now screaming in her bedroom as I'm not laying down with her if she's not going to lay down and try to go to sleep. I hate doing this, but she really needs to learn how to fall asleep.

48/365 - Goggles

I had to work today. Started at 4:30am and fortunately, we wrapped up just after 10:00am. I'm really tired now and think I may end up in bed early. I kept waking up last night, scared of sleeping through the alarm.

Isobel loves these swim goggles/onion cutting goggles of Jon's.

47/365 - Day at The Birds

We headed out to the Birds today for a pre-Christmas get together. As usual they were great hosts. It was too bad that Pieter and Brian were both ill; we missed them both and had been looking forward to seeing Pieter again. At the Brids, we ate, played a game, and visited. Isobel had lots of fun playing. Cordelia has grown so much since we last saw her - she's full of cute baby giggles and is a very good girl and took a nice afternoon nap. Isobel probably ate almost ten mandarin oranges - thanks Matt for peeling most of them and feeding them to her.

46/365 - Kiss Night Night for Mommy

I'm so glad it's Friday. Work was busy trying to get things done before overflow parking begins on Sunday morning.

Isobel didn't like me trying to organize and pack things tonight. She got quite upset about it, so I figured it was time to stop and try to spend some more attention on her. We had a bath and then read some stories and she seemed much happier. I didn't try to put her to bed until later and she was still awake when Jon got home. She was very excited to see her daddy and wasn't going to fall asleep, so she's now running around the house and I'll try to put her down again soon.

44/365 - Not So Good Day

So today was not the greatest. I had another training session at work, my computer and phone were not set up when I arrived in the morning, my office is still in boxes, it was pouring rain for a while, and my purse got stolen. On the plus side, we signed a lease for an apartment closer to work, I was able to move to a different workstation that I like better than where I was originally going to sit, and Isobel didn't want to breastfeed while I was on the phone with the RCMP and credit card company.

I first realized that my purse was missing when Jon picked my up. It went missing about 45 minutes before then, when I walked to another area at work and then forgot my purse there when I returned to my office. My coworkers were great, and helped me search everywhere. But no luck. I'm probably more upset about it than I should be, but I was really hoping that it would turn up and not have been stolen. And since we were signing a new lease I had my cheque book with me, which I never carry with me otherwise. So my debit card has been replaced and the credit card cancelled - there was a hold placed on the card due to fraudulent activity. Tomorrow after work, I'll go get a new driver's license and maybe wallet. And Jon's going to report my building fob as stolen once we confirm which are the valid ones. I really liked that purse. Plus all of my keys were there, and a card of Isobel's that had a picture of her as a baby that I wanted to keep. Very annoying. Is it bad to hope that the bag (with most of its content) will still be found and turned in?

Anyways, it's 11pm and Isobel's still up as it was a long day of dealing with issues on the phone and when Jon got home from Kate's play, she got excited to see him.

43/365 - Christmas Party at the Aquarium

I didn't get to sit at my desk for most of the day today and we're rearranging the workstations in my office area to fit in two more people. It wasn't finished when I left for the day so I'm not sure how it all turned out; hopefully it's not too squishy.

Jon and Isobel picked me up from work. And we have to go sign a lease for a new apartment tomorrow. I still haven't see the inside, but I'm sure it will be fine. It's a lot closer to work, so the commute time will be significantly reduced. But I will miss the apartment we live in now.

This evening, Isobel and I went to the Christmas party at the Aquarium for members. It was a RSVP event and they were expecting 2,000 people. It was very crowded and Isobel didn't want to stand in line for anything - including seeing Santa. But she did have a lot of fun running around and watching the bigger kids and eating a cookie.

We ended up getting home late though, way past er normal bedtime Since she still hadn't fallen asleep for me by the time Jon got home, he took over so I could take a quick shower.

42/365 - Buns

Blog this photo

42/365 - Buns
Isobel goes through phases with food. She'll eat something everyday and only eat that thing. Usually, it's more than one thing, but it's still annoying. Right now all that I can get her to eat with a lot of success is bananas, grapes, melon, and buns. Yesterday Angel was surprised to watch Isobel eat two buns by herself. Oh well, eventually she'll learn to like veggies as well.

Today was a busy day at work. I was either in meetings or training all day long and only saw my desk for maybe two minutes. Plus things in my office area are supposed to be re-organized tomorrow and I'm still not sure if I need to pack my stuff up there to facilitate the moves. Oh well....looks like I'll be throwing stuff from my desk into boxes at the last minute if required. Plus I'm hoping to see a more finalized copy of my Olympic schedule to start planning for required childcare.

On the way home, Isobel and I stopped at the pool. And yes, my bathing suit was there. I still feel stupid for forgetting it - I was so worried about making sure Isobel was warmly dressed and that we didn't forget any of her things, that I forgot I had my suit hanging in the change room.

Isobel freaked out when I started getting the kitchen garbage ready to go out. But when I went out into the hallway to the garbage chute she followed me and was fine. As soon as I opened up the cupboard to put a new garbage bag in the container she got upset again. So I saved the bathroom garbage for later even though it desperately needs emptying.

Isobel went to bed early tonight - just before 7pm - and fell asleep really quickly. I was able to sneak out, throw a load of laundry into the dryer, and wash most of the dishes. When I was almost finished the dishes, she woke up crying. I quickly finished the last few dishes and then crawled back in bed with her. Within minutes she was snoring again and I was able to sneak out. I had just turned on the pot to sterilize her bottle bits and the kettle to make myself some tea when she awoke again. So I turned everything off and crawled back into bed with her again. This time I refused to breastfeed her, so it took a little longer for her to fall asleep, but eventually I was able to sneak out again. Now I'm just hoping that she's down for the night or, more realistically, at least a good three hours.

41/365 - Fire Alarm

This morning was spent changing the sheets on Isobel's bed and trying to pack up a few things in her room. And then the fire alarm went off. Off course, we were all still in our pajamas. So Jon got him and Isobel dressed while I threw a couple of clothes for her in the diaper bag and got myself dressed. By the time we got to the ground level, the alarm had stopped.

It was snowing outside and I didn't want to wait for the elevators to be turned back on, and try to fight for a spot on one; so we walked the two blocks to the crepe place Jon likes for lunch. Isobel wasn't interested in the eggs from Jon's crepe, or even the crepe itself, but she did drink most of her apple juice and ate most of the banana that was inside my crepe.

When we got home, we packed up to go swimming since it's been a couple of weeks. We picked up Angel on the way to the pool. I was hoping that the teach pool would be just a tiny bit warmer than it was. But it was still a lot of fun. It's great watching how excited Isobel gets to be in the pool. But a little scary as she wants to take off and doesn't realize that she doesn't know how to swim yet and a two foot deep pool is very deep for someone her size. As soon as we got there she seemed to recall all the fun she had on the slide last time, and b-lined right for it.

After our trip to the pool, Angel came back to our place so she could keep Isobel entertained while we took the crib apart. Her room looks so much bigger without the crib. Jon and Isobel drove Angel to work, while I quickly vacuumed. Jon and Isobel had a bath and then we read a chapter of Narnia. And I realized that I left my bathing suit at the pool. One was found matching the description I gave when I called, but as I can't remember the brand they're not sure it's mine. I'll try to stop tomorrow on my way home from work to see. I really hope it's mine as I hate bathing suit shopping and really do not want to have to go buy another one.

And Jon's just trying to get Isobel to sleep for the night. Why do weekends always go by so fast?

40/365 - A Girl After Her Daddy's Heart

Isobel woke up this morning at 7am. At that point I laid down with her and kicked Jon out - he had slept with her that night. But instead of going to sleep for an hour he played on the computer. After getting ready for the day, we headed over to Park Royal to meet up with Robyn and do some Christmas and grocery shopping. Isobel was really cranky by the end of our shopping and fell asleep on the drive home. We had some clothes for donation in the trunk, so we drove around and got the done while Isobel napped.

39/365 - The Phone Game

Isobel loves playing "where's the phone" lately. She knows that the phone has to be off the charger in order for the base ring button to work and that I can't be on it. So it's impossible to get our phone charged during the day now. And the charge gets used faster as she's always pressing buttons. I'm hoping she outgrows this soon.

It took about an hour and a half to get her to go to sleep. It's so frustrating as every once and a while she'll take fifteen minutes to put down so that I think things are finally going well with bedtime and then it takes a lot of fighting to get her to sleep other nights. Plus she still doesn't sleep through the night most nights.

38/365 - Toys

While Isobel plays with her toys, I often wonder why we bother getting her toys when she's content playing with stuff already in the house - the phone, the keyboard, the mouse, keys, tupperware, tooth brush holders, spatulas, spoons, the laundry basket, and now soap. The bar of soap from her bath is in the tupperware in front of the door and she's trying to get Jon's car key. I think she may have even eaten some of the soap - there's no chunk missing but a few teeth marks and there was some soap below her lip.

37/365 - Tired Girl

I've been waiting until the last moment of each day lately to get out the camera and Isobel's getting tired; must start taking a couple of photos when we first get home.

Since I had to stay late at work for a meeting, Isobel's godfather came over to watch her. She had lots of fun with Uncle Matty and didn't really want him to leave. Apparently he let her play the "where's the phone game" (she likes to press the handset locator button on the phone base) for half an hour and the "putting a lid back on" game for a while. When someone was vaccuming in the hall, she ran to him for comfort. Overall it was a success, so a very big thank you to Matt, especially since he volunteered to watch her again for us.

I tried to get a couple of book boxes packed, but Isobel was getting cranky and annoyed that I wasn't devoting all my attention to her so that had to be finished after she went to bed. She actually was asleep and in bed by 7:20pm which gave me some time to also work on a schedule for work for the Olympics. Now have to see if it gets approved and then figure out what has to happen to get care for Isobel also scheduled. I was still working on it when Jon got home at 9:20 pm and hence, did not do this write up. And the she woke up at 10pm so I crawled until bed with her.

It doesn't look like the apartment Jon looked at will work as there's mold on the bedroom windows. So we'll keep looking.

36/365 - Mommy's Keys

Isobel is holding one of her favorite toys, a set of keys. I still have my Saturn key on it, even though ICBC wrote it off almost a year and a half ago. I know I should have thrown it away, but I'm glad now I didn't as Isobel really seems to like this key - probably because it's large.

Today was a busy day at work. I was in training for most of it and now have lots to catch up on tomorrow, in between meetings.

None of us slept very well last night as Jon and I were both stressed out. Things are looking better as we have a tentative game plan for January, I'll be doing shift work in February and March for the Olympics so that should be workable, and my mom is willing to come out and help us for one to two months. I'm hoping that we can make things work until Isobel's two and then find a daycare for her as there seem to be more that will take kids when they're 24 to 30 months old.

And we're going to consider moving to Richmond so that we're both closer to work and live somewhere cheaper. Not looking forward to packing and unpacking, but.....

Isobel ate a whole grilled cheese sandwich (minus the crust) for dinner. Plus she ate a lot of grapes before and after. She was really good until just before dinner when she got really clinging. But she went to bed much easier for me than last night. When I snuck out of her room at 7:30pm she was snoring away.

35/365 - Isobel's New Smile

You can see all three of her teeth in this photo.

Some bad news this Monday. They're canceling the late shift at Jon's work after Christmas. So much for being able to arrange our shifts so that we would be the ones looking after Isobel all the time. I'm waiting for him to get home, but we're trying to figure out what we're going to do now.

Isobel was whiny all evening; she would freak out unless I was holding her. She was falling asleep breastfeeding after her bath. But the phone rang just after 7pm, before I put her to bed, and woke her up. When I did put her to bed, she was a good girl and laid there trying to go to sleep. But she never quite fell asleep. It's now 9pm and we're up waiting for Jon to get home from work as I had to put a load of laundry in the dryer and she freaked out when I left her bedroom. So much for getting anything done tonight.

34/365 - Skating Rink and Santa Claus Parade

Jon was supposed to meet up with Robyn this morning and do some shopping, but she ended up in the hospital again with her kidney stone - hopefully she's feeling better soon and Raven's doing okay with the two kids.

We wanted up to the Art Gallery as there were pre-Santa Claus parade events there. Plus they had a drop off for items for the Food Bank and we had a bunch of baby food items that Isobel has outgrown. Isobel was crabby before we left and we were really hoping that she'd nap while on our walk.

There were a lot of people out for the parade - more than I realized as we've never walked the route before since the parade starts outside of our apartment window.

We checked out the newly re-opened outdoor Robson Square skating rink next. I'm really glad that it's re-opened as it's something I've wanted to go to for a long time. But I think we'll have to wait until next year to take Isobel skating as you're not allowed to carry children for safety reasons, and she's still not steady enough on her feet for the crowds of people that would be there. Oh well, it gives me a year to find my ice skates and see if they still fit.

Next we went to HMV to warm up and pick up a few DVDs. Jon and I are going to get even further behind on watching stuff since we only really have the weekends after Isobel is in bed.

We then started the walk home with plans of finding a spot to watch the parade from. Isobel fell asleep just before we got to JapaDog for lunch. I love JapaDog - sushi on hot dogs is great. We then headed back to out apartment building so that we could watch the parade from there. However, since Isobel was sleeping and Jon was cold we decided to forgo the parade, as it was starting, for another year and go inside to warm up.

We managed to go through all of the clothes we have for Isobel and get those organized. Plus a bit of laundry done.

After dinner, Jon ran to the grocery store to pick up a few things while Isobel sat on my lap and had me read her stories. When Jon got home he gave Isobel her bath. We decided to skip reading Narnia tonight as she was cranky, and read her a shorter story. She convinced Jon to read her the story three times, so we probably could have read her Narnia. Jon put her to bed while I folded and put away some laundry. Now we're watching the second season of Life on Mars before it's our bed time.

33/365 - Bright Nights

We had a very busy day today and Isobel was awake before 6am and wouldn't go back to sleep.

We met up with Michelle at the crepes place near our apartment for breakfast. And then walked to Stanley Park to buy tickets for the Bright Nights train. Isobel fell asleep in the stroller and got in a nice nap. Although, Jon and I were both hoping she wouldn't sleep until later.

After purchasing tickets, we headed home, got in the car, and drove out to Poppa and Louise's house. Jon's Gran is visiting and we wanted to see her. Allison, Ryley and Jordan were also there.

Isobel was a little shy when we first arrived, but by the end of our visit was having a blast playing and especially climbing the stairs. It was a very nice visit, but had to rush home to meet up with The Birds for the train ride.

I had never been on the miniature train at Stanley Park before. Even though the lineup was a lot longer than I was expecting after buying tickets and Isobel was a little cranky I had a lot of fun and will definitely go back next year.

Afterward, The Birds came back to our place for a nice visit - Isobel had lots of fun playing with Mason and Cordy.

Isobel was up way past her normal bedtime and quickly crashed when Jon put her to bed. Hopefully, she'll sleep for a nice seven hour stretch for me tonight.

32/365 - Evening Walk

Friday at last. I've had this annoying headache for the last few days that just doesn't seem to want to go away. It's driving me crazy. I had an employee meeting at work today which just seemed to aggravate it. Got back from the meeting to find out that all these people were looking for me for various reasons. So tried to resolve some of those and then headed up to the terminal and had lunch with Nathalie.

Jon told me to take the car this morning so that he could have Isobel weighed at the nurses' station on the way to skytrain. She's now 17lb 14oz.

Met up with Jon and Isobel at the mall and was surprised to find out that Jon had called in a family day - I was a bit stressed out that I was running later than I had hoped to. We wandered around Toys R Us for a while and Isobel had a blast. We picked up a few presents and then headed home. Isobel, tired after playing at the store, napped the entire way home.

Since I hadn't planned on having Jon home for dinner, we decided to head to Urban Fair. I've heard good things about it and we also needed a couple of grocery items and wanted to get in a bit of a walk since there's no rain.

Isobel and I had a bath and then got ready for bed. I fell asleep with her, while putting her down. So much for spending an evening with Jon.

31/365 - 13 Months Old

Isobel was so cute this morning. Normally, when I sneak in to blow her and Jon and kiss before leaving for work in the morning, her head is all snuggled up to Jon. But this morning, she was snuggled up to Sammy.

Since Jon had gaming tonight, Isobel and I skytrained it home. She was not happy that I made her wear her pink and white kitty hat on the walk home; but she kept it on although she did cry the entire walk home.

My baby turned thirteen months old today. So it was time to take the monthly photo with the penguin. Isobel was not too keen on the idea, but warmed up to it, especially when she was allowed to play with her big red golf ball. Jon will hopefully walk up to the nurses' station tomorrow (or next week) and weigh her.

Every night Jon's at work, he calls us on his break. Isobel always kiss kisses the phone when he's on speakerphone with us. It's so cute and in my mind proves she's a daddy's girl; she never kiss kisses the phone when I call during the day - she's too busy laughing with daddy then.

30/365 - Little Explorer

Jon took this picture while I was at work, and I've stolen it for my daily photo. Isobel put this hat we picked up for Nicholas on her head herself. Maybe that means she's turning around to the idea of hats. Doubtful, but I can hope.

Jon was home sick today. A busy day at work with a meeting about Christmas overflow parking operations. Plus it finally sunk in that I'll have to work New Year's Eve this year - to change the parking rates for the new 21% PST that goes to Translink. At least, if things go according to plan, I should be able to log in from home and do all the changes remotely.

29/365 - Tooth Brush Holder

The picture is blurry because Isobel managed to get a smudged fingerprint on the camera (don't tell Jon). This is one of her latest favorite toys - half of a tooth brush holder, that she found in her explorations in the bath room cupboard. I have no idea what she's done with the other half; hopefully not stuck it in the base heater (I've already found one half there once). She loves to talk into it. And then tries to get us to talk into it.

I made salmon patties for dinner tonight as I needed a break from mac and cheese. Isobel ate over half of one patty, then some honeydew melon, part of a cheese bun, and a cookie - quite a lot for someone her size.

She was really good at playing by herself (primarily in the bathroom cupboard) early this afternoon. However, as soon as it was time for dinner, she's been constantly under my feet. After dinner, she just wanted to sit on me. She freaked out when I went into the DVD closet to look for some CDs. Jon's idea of cleaning is to tidy things and move them to undisclosed locations that most of the time he can't recall where he put them - possibly because he threw them out and doesn't want to tell me so that I don't scream at him - I'm a pack rat (although trying very hard to get better at not being such a pack rat) and he loves to get rid of things. I love him, I just hate his idea of cleaning (except when he washes the dishes for me as the post-pregnancy eczema makes it annoying for me to wash them). I really need to get him to take Isobel out more often without me on the weekends so that I can clean - it's just that the weekends are our only family time and I want to spend as much time with them as possible. I suppose the other option is to force Isobel to get used to me cleaning more. My goals for this week are to play CDs in the evening (hence why I was looking for them), to continue trying to use baby signs with Isobel, and to try to vacuum one night - not looking forward to the last one as Isobel's freaked of the vacuum cleaner and will scream as soon as it's out and for a long while after it's stopped.
