Today was my birthday. Not the greatest day at work, but not too bad. Lori brought me in some war cake for my birthday (I love her war cake) and Brian bought me breakfast. And then we were busy with the never ending project we've been working on that just reveals more and more issues. Oh well....
Got home and managed to get Isobel to sleep for a tiny nap. She discovered crawling into her oven as well as the night stand cupboard. I'm wondering if I should empty out her bath room cupboard as another place for her to hide in.
We then got ready to go out and stopped off at the courtyard for some playing before meeting Jon at Mad Greek for dinner. Jon was just coming into the building as we were leaving as he got off work a little early. Mom treated us to a nice birthday dinner and then Jon and I walked up to Imperial Hobbies to play board games for the evening while grandma took Isobel home.
Isobel went to bed without any problems for my mom, but then woke up as we got home and wanted to sleep with us.

148/365 - Hiding in Cupboards
I did not have a good day at work. But that's okay as there's only one work day left for me this week so I should survive. Having a meeting go into my lunch hour did not help either - I get really cranky if not fed at regular intervals.
I got home and Isobel decided to show me her new game - hiding in her nightstand cupboard. It actually used to be my nightstand as a child. It's an antique washing station with a section for a towel at the top back; and once upon a time a pitcher and basin would have sit on it. When I was younger I accidentally spilled nail polish remover on the top of it ruining it's finish. So my dad (with a little help from me) sanded it down, stained it a lighter colour to match my other furniture, and then rubbed varnish onto it. It's always been one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I also still have my baby dresser, now Isobel's dresser, that my dad also sanded down and refinished for me.
Isobel got her sixth tooth today. Her top left molar has completely broken through the surface of her gums. No wonder she's been so cranky the last few days. (Although not nearly as cranky as I was when teething if you ask my mom).
Isobel and I walked to the park before dinner to feed the bunnies while my mom took a nap. Isobel napped for her today, after her lunch, for about forty minutes. And didn't even need a bottle to fall asleep with, just rocked.
Jon got home and made perogies and sausages for dinner. Isobel fell off her stool and was really upset so I didn't think she was going to eat any of her dinner, but she surprised me and ate quite a bit.
Isobel and Jon took a bath and then she played for a little while. Jon's just putting her to bed now.

147/365 - Hair Stickers
The weather was mostly miserable today. It would pour rain and then clear up for a while and then pour again. Plus it was cold and windy.
Isobel and grandma stayed inside today thanks to the weather. They baked sugar cookies. Since I left late for work in the morning, I stayed late and wasn't home at Isobel's normal nap time. However, grandma was able to get her to nap for a while. She woke up as I turned the key in the door.
We ate some of the sugar cookies they had baked, and then Isobel started putting stickers in her hair. She even decided that we needed stickers in our hair.
We had meatballs and rice for dinner. Isobel didn't touch the rice but ate almost two full meatballs by herself. She then devoured a kiwi for desert.
She was pretty crabby for grandma today, but not too bad for us. She did not want to get into her pajamas, but fell asleep quickly when Jon put her to bed.
Jon and I then went down to the pool for a while.

146/365 - Bopomo and Dinner at Nana's
We had a busy day. Isobel woke up screaming "Dad" just as we were going to bed at midnight. I went in and spent an hour and a half trying to get her back to sleep before Jon took over. And she still didn't sleep in.
We all drove out to pick up my mom from Langley in the morning and then into Vancouver for a photo shoot at Bopomo. Isobel slept on the way to Langley and then woke up for the drive to Vancouver. I was really hoping that she would be tired enough to sleep the entire car trip, but no such luck.
Allison and the boys joined us at Bopomo to get the kid's picture taken. And then we headed to Jon's mom's for dinner. As Isobel didn't nap a lot, she was really tired and we left early.

145/365 - Jon's Gaming Day
Isobel woke up early last night so Jon ended up sleeping with her and from the sounds of it she slept fitfully all night.
Jon had gaming today (one Saturday of every month). Isobel and I walked there with him, with a few stops along the way. We decided not to stay and watch as there were a lot of people and Isobel kept running to the door. So her and I walked home.
We then played outside on the patio for a little while. Blowing bubbles and pushing Muk Muk in her stroller.
Had a video call with my dad and Isobel started to fall asleep. So her and I laid down and slept for about an hour.
Got up and started playing when Jon got home from gaming. Ordered pizza and did some finger painting while we waited for dinner. Isobel and I were just getting into the bath to wash off the finger paint when the pizza arrived.
Watched some more Mad Men and did a little laundry. Jon put Isobel to bed while I showered - I didn't manage to get all of the paint off of me in the bath.

144/365 - Calm before the storm
It was my supervisor's birthday at work today. Jon and Isobel picked me up after dropping my mom off in Surrey for her weekend visit with one of her friends.
On the way home, we decided to stop and take some photos of Isobel. She wasn't really in the mood though and it was windy. So we headed home, after checking out Iona Beach as a possible future photo location.
Got home and made veggie stir fry with rice for dinner. Belly wasn't interested in it. We finished the episode of Mad Men we had started yesterday and then headed to the grocery store. Picked up a few items, including a roasted chicken for Isobel. Which she ate almost half of herself when we got home.
Jon put her to bed, as usual, while I remade our bed with clean sheets.
Also, Isobel's top left molar is almost through - I still have to see it yet though. Just reporting on what my mom and Jon observed today.

143/365 - Afternoon Swim
Another day at work. Lots to do, but I did not feel as overwhelmed as I did yesterday. I'm debating about working one day next weekend, but really don't want to; I just should to get a few things done.
Isobel and grandma took the sky train to Surrey today to visit a friend and ex-coworker of my mom's. They met me at the airport and we went home together.
Jon still was not feeling great this morning so he stayed home sick. He was better by the time we got home, so we took Isobel down to the pool in our complex. She seemed to have a lot of fun.
Grandma was nice enough to take Isobel back upstairs once she was done and let us stay in the pool for a little while.
Isobel helped Jon make banana pancakes for dinner. My mom was happy as she likes pancakes, but my dad doesn't think that they're dinner food so she never gets them for dinner. Plus Jon's good at making pancakes (since he stole the good recipe from Isobel's godfather).
Today was the second night in a row that Isobel didn't ask to breastfeed until just before bed. Maybe weaning her will be easier than I feared.
Watched a little bit of Mad Men season 3 and am going to try to go to bed soon as I'm really tired. Glad tomorrow is Friday.
