247/365 - New Bucket

Angel watched Isobel for us today. I met up with them at Lansdowne Mall were they had been enjoying the A/C and watching some World Cup. Angel sky trained it back to Vancouver so that she could go to work and Isobel and I hung out at the mall waiting for Jon to get off work.

While waiting, I bought Isobel this big bucket and we went on the mini train ride.

Once Jon was off work, we headed to the North Shore for some cheap gas and grocery shopping.

Got home after 8pm and Isobel wasn't in bed until after 9pm.

246/365 - Watering Plants

Cynthia and Nicholas gave us these tomato plants that they raised from seedlings. I think I've killed them aleady or at least they're almost dead. I really need to try harder next year to develop a green thumb.

Cally watched Isobel for us again today. After picking up Isobel, we went straight home and I managed to get Isobel upstairs without waking her from her nap. She slept for about two hours, with a brief wakeup - just took moving her from the stroller to our bed and some snuggling to get her back to sleep. She was still asleep when Jon got home.

I managed to get our grill cleaned while Isobel sleeps. Now I just need Jon to fit it into it's carrying case and it's good to take camping this weekend.

I was planning on going downstairs and tidying up the car for our road trip, but Jon put on Castle and I got sucked into watching it.

Jon fell asleep in Isobel's room while putting her to bed for the night; he didn't wake up when I went into to kiss him goodnight so I went to bed alone; a little too late though.

245/365 - Isobel's Box

Jon was going to recycle this box, but Isobel has claimed it as a play toy.

It was Cally's first day of watching Isobel for us. Matt's intercom wasn't working though. I think we managed to get it fixed by the time I left. Isobel seemed to have fun and tired them both out.

We picked up Jon on our way home and then had a lazy evening.

244/365 - Sunday Nap

We went down to the pool today for a little while. Isobel took a two hour nap. We made sure that the air mattress still worked as we'll need it next weekend for camping - Isobel had fun playing on it. Did some laundry. And that's about it.

243/365 - 20 Months Old

Isobel turned twenty months old today. Pretty soon I'm going to have a two year old.

As usual for a weekend, Isobel woke up earlier than we would have liked. We eventually got moving in the morning a walked to pick up some fruit, veggies and buns. Also returned a couple of library books on the way home.

Then we took Isobel's monthly photos with her penguin before getting ready to have friends over. The Birds were the first to arrive, with Pieter (they picked him up at the ferry on the way to our place as he was back in Canada for a bit - I think he had his Canadian citizenship status ceremony). And then April and Matty arrived a few minutes later. Jon bbqed some hot dogs and hamburgers. (April had brought the fixings for homemade Japadogs and they were so yummy - can't wait to have them again). Brian showed up just after we cleaned up lunch and started dessert. There was still a leftover hotdog for him though.

Played some Pandemic. The Birds left early as Cordy was getting tired and then we played boardgames and snacked until about 8pm when every one left. I put Isobel to bed while Jon drove Pieter to the ferry. It was nice to see him; hopefully one day he'll find a professor position in Canada and move back here.

I cleaned up until Jon got home and then we watched some Doctor Who before heading to bed.

242/365 - Time with Aunties Cally and April

I took Friday off. The original plan was to work on potty training Isobel, but I don't think she's quite ready yet. But I decided to keep the day off anyways.

In the morning, Jon and I made a couple batches of perogies. I had bought a bag that said sweet potatoes, but they ended up being yams. That's Superstore for you. And I cooked up a lot of caramelized onions for Saturday.

Jon went to work. And then April and Cally came over. Cally played with Isobel while April and I baked some cupcakes, rice krispie squares, and layered jello.

April painted Isobel's nails (her first time ever having nail polish on). And she let April and Cally put her hair in pigtails - which looks so cute on her.

Matt came over just before Jon got home and the six of us went to one of April and Cally's favorite restaurants - Dinesty, which is right near Jon's work. It was very yummy and we'll definitely go back; even Isobel seemed to really like it.

Got home and Matty babysat Isobel for us so that Jon and I could get a few groceries without her. As we got in the elevator she started sobbing and since it was getting past her bedtime, we rushed at Superstore.

Got home to learn that Isobel called for mommy most of the 30 so minutes we were gone. I put her to bed while Jon and Matt played some ModNation PS3 game. Then we taught Matty how to play Pandemic before he went home and we went to bed.

241/365 - Canada Day

We managed to get some cleaning done this morning. In the afternoon, Isobel was getting cranky, just in time for us to go meet up with Michelle at South Arm Park. She was asleep shortly after the car made it out of the garage. When we got to the park, Isobel was still asleep, so Jon read and I took a nap as well.

The park has a great play ground area for kids and Isobel had a blast playing there. She really seemed to enjoy going down the slide by herself. Over an hour after we were supposed to meet up with Michelle, and after I started getting tired of the play ground, I finally called Michelle to find out where they were. Turns out the park is bigger than I realized and they were in one of the fields. So we joined them and hung out for a while. Isobel seemed to really enjoy herself playing with a soccer ball with Adela and Tristan's two boys and petting the five month old baby girl who was there. We'll have to try to hang out with Michelle and her gang soon.

Instead of heading back to Michelle's for a Canada Day barbeque, Jon dropped us off at home so he could go to his last Star Wars gaming session. They were trying to get everything for this wrapped up before Chris moves to Saskatoon.

Isobel and I watched Fantastic Mr Fox, yet again. Managed to get some dishes washed, some laundry folded, and the kitchen floor washed. She also went to bed early, 7:40 and was asleep within 45 minutes cuddling with her pink kitty.
